Este fin de semana no querréis salir de casa, porque el Festival de Verano de Steam ofrece una cantidad de juegos gratis sin precedentes. Casi 600 juegos para PC que podremos probar sin gastar ni un euro, y que se suman a un puñado de demos (que dejarán de estar disponibles cuando termine el Summer Festival) de los juegos más esperados.
Hemos preparado un listado con todos los juegos disponibles gratis en la plataforma durante el fin de semana, y además destacamos alguno de los títulos más notables. El primero de ellos es Kingdom Come Deliverance, el juego de Warhorse Studios, que estará disponible a partir de mañana mismo, gratis en Steam (durante 2 días).
A primera vista, Kingdom Come: Deliverance no se diferencia demasiado de otros RPG como The Elder Scrolls: exploramos un mundo gigante, en primera persona y a pie o a caballo, conversamos con NPCs, combatimos usando distintas armas como espadas, hachas, mazas o arcos, equipamos todo tipo de armaduras, fabricamos pociones, ganamos experiencia, subimos de nivel y mejoramos estadísticas, visitamos aldeas y castillos... Pero hay un aspecto que lo diferencia de cualquier otro juego de rol reciente: su realismo.
Olvidaos de la magia y los hechizos, de los elfos y los enanos, y de los dragones y otras criaturas fantásticas. En Kingdom Come: Deliverance todo está representado de forma que sea lo más fiel posible a la realidad. Desde la historia, que relata los hechos históricos de la muerte de Carlos IV y la guerra civil que se sucedió entre sus dos hijos, hasta aspectos jugables como el sistema de combate, complejo y con movimientos que huyen de las piruetas imposibles que tan acostumbrados estamos a ver.
El segundo título destacado es Paper Beast, Esta aventura en perspectiva subjetiva (de eric Chahi, creador de Another World) arranca sin apenas pistas e historia. Lo único que sabemos es que estamos probando un nuevo entorno informático cuando, de repente, todo parece venirse abajo y aparecemos en mitad de un extraño desierto, habitado por inusuales criaturas que parecen hechas de papel. No se nos dan instrucciones sobre lo que hacer, ni de qué va todo este asunto.
De vez en cuando, hemos de resolver puzzles basados en la física del entorno, aprovechando las propiedades únicas de las bestias o los materiales que encontramos: derretir placas de hielo, desaguar un área inundada o desplazar los animales nos servirán para abrir la ruta que nos permita seguir avanzando en esta particular narración. Además de estos retos obligatorios, hay algunos coleccionables secundarios que, por supuesto, se insinúan con toda la sutileza del mundo.
Y para terminar, os recomendamos Onirike, un proyecto del estudio español DevilishGames que destaca por su estilo artístico, y la combinación de puzles y plataformas 3D, en unos entornos de fantasía.

Además de todos estos títulos, aún podéis disfrutar de algunas demos como Windjammers 2, la nueva entrega de la saga deportiva que arrancó en NeoGeo, y que llega 25 años después, de mano de Dotemu (responsables del excelente Streets of Rage 4 o Wonder Boy and the Dragons Trap). Windjammers 2 recupera esta competición de lanzamiento de frisbee, con nuevas opciones, un nuevo elenco de competidores, nuevas pistas de juego y un estilo visual muy cuidado, que respeta los cánones del juego original. Además, la competición de Windjammers 2 se completa con movimientos EX y mecánicas adicionales.
También está disponible la demo de Iron Harvest (juego de estrategia ambientado tras la Primera Guerra Mundial, en un campo de batalla dominado por gigantescos mechas) o el tronchante Just Die Already. Una locura de los creadores de Goat Simulator (para que sepamos por dónde van los tiros) en que encarnamos a una serie de jubilados, amenazados por un montón de "millenials". Se trata de un juego de mundo abierto, en que la fragilidad de nuestro personaje y las misiones alocadas que nos esperan en el desarrollo (a cambio de unos tickets de jubilación para regresar a la residencia) nos aseguran la diversión.
