Nintendo ya está trabajando en la sucesora de Wii U

Nintendo podría estar preparando ya su nueva consola, la sucesora de Wii U en la next-gen. Así lo hemos sabido gracias a una oferta de empleo publicada online en la que la compañía busca a un ingeniero gráfico con experiencia en campos muy concretos. Os contamos todos los detalles a continuación.

No es ninguna sorpresa saber que una compañía ya piensa en su próxima consola next-gen, aun cuando la última lleva en el mercado apenas unos años. Y si tenemos en cuenta que Wii U lleva más tiempo a la venta que sus competidoras (PS4 y Xbox One), las probabilidades de que Nintendo se encuentre trabajando en su próxima consola de sobremesa se disparan. Nintendo Technology Development is looking for a lead graphics architect in the system-on-chip architecture group in Redmond, WA. The group is responsible for the architecture of Nintendo’s game console SoCs. The graphics architect plays a key role in determining the SoC architecture. The job responsibilities are:

  • Evaluate HW graphics (GPU) offerings from SoC solutions available in the market based on performance, power, and silicon area.
  • Evaluate the performance of the SoC solutions for both proprietary and standard graphics APIs.
  • Determine workloads and simulation models for both performance and power characteristics of GPUs.
  • Keep track of GPU architectural improvements in the industry and devise strategies to incorporate them for future Nintendo gaming platforms.
